Welcome to the Lowell Alliance for Families and Neighborhoods (LAFN)!
The Lowell Alliance for Families and Neighborhoods’ mission is to support families and communities by advocating for and promoting empowerment, inclusion and diversity. We do this by building on the existing strengths of families and communities, and by facilitating partnerships with supportive resources and services.
The Lowell Alliance for Families and Neighborhoods is a part of Community Connections, a network of neighborhood-based, resident-driven coalitions across Massachusetts. The mission of Community Connections is to facilitate the organization of comprehensive family support systems in neighborhoods throughout the Commonwealth. It promotes a planning framework that is prevention focused, collaborative, strengths-based, resident-driven, and builds upon the diversity of families and communities.
The LAFN Coalition is comprised of community residents and leaders, local service providers, schools, and neighborhood groups. Lowell Alliance activities include:
- The Lowell Diaper Bank Collaborative
- Sponsoring the Annual Back to School Parties and National Night Out Events
- Organizing residents and neighborhood groups
- Working with schools and parents around educational issues
